Traditional Banquets

We offer a fresh perspective to traditional banquet fare. Our customized meals are made the exact same as our daily dining room service – everything from scratch, in-house, using locally sourced and grown ingredients. Our chefs’ meticulous attention to detail make every meal outstanding.

We limit our banquets to 250 guests to ensure the highest quality meals. 

The Modern Traditional

A traditional menu served with a modern approach. Upon arrival, we will have each place setting precisely set with iced filtered tap water, the RLA salad, dessert (pre-selected), fresh brewed coffee in stainless steel pitchers (decaf upon request as well as drink refills), and baskets of warm rolls made fresh daily by BreadWorks to welcome your guests. The entree, starch, and vegetables are served as one balanced plate, combining textures, color, and flavors into one cohesive plate and served by an experienced banquet team. The dessert of your choice is pre-set and offers a sweet end to the meal.

 

Transitional 

We take the best of our Traditional and add a Twist! Dessert and coffee service will be set up in our Atrium, reception-style, which affords networking and celebration after your main program. You may also elect to have bar service during this time (see our Bar Service Policy). This contemporary approach to banquets makes for an excellent way to conclude your event. 

 

The Buffet Experience

Our customizable buffets offer an exquisitely displayed economical option. We set up your buffet in our Atrium, just outside the Great Room, which allows guests to plate their own meal. Guest have more selection with two entrees and other options of their choosing such as vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary needs.  We can either pre-set tables or you may choose to have beverage stations with salad and warm rolls offered on your buffet. Dessert may also be pre-set or placed on a separate buffet which will allow for two options. We also provide exceptional banquet staffing to our buffets.

The RLA has built sustainability into our entire organization. Over 50% of our produce comes from local farms and we are a Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant (Silver), Official Green Meeting Center, and recycle nearly 80% of our refuse. All wares are either reusable or 100% compostable.

 

The RLA is a nonprofit, driven by our mission. Our services are comprehensive and include CMP and CMM-Certified event planners as part of the process to review every detail so that your event is planned thoroughly from beginning to end. Unlike hotels and other profit-driven banquet centers, the RLA doesn’t charge a fee for this service and most other services. We also provide IT techs that are ready and available to assist you at no charge during your event. Also included is a designated day-of-event professional coordinator who will ensure a smooth banquet from start to finish.
