Master of Business Administration Degree Program

The Penn State MBA in Pittsburgh has been offered in since 2012. The 30 credit program is offered on a part time basis and can be completed in five semesters.  The program is both flexible and convenient as it is offered in a blended format of 75% online, 25% in class. Students and faculty will meet at the RLA for face-to-face interaction four times a semester. Classes meet from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  This format is ideal for working professionals as participation takes place at one’s convenience.

Prior to beginning the 30 credit MBA program, students will need to demonstrate competence in seven key business disciplines: accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, operations, and statistics.  This can be done in two ways 1.) Having corresponding courses and grades of B or higher, within the past 7 years, from an accredited university. Or, 2.) Completing cost-effective, self-paced online modules for all or only those disciplines in which you need to demonstrate competence. Access information on the Pre-Enrollment Competencies.

The GMAT is waived for individuals who:

  • have seven or more years of post-baccalaureate, professional work experience

  • hold a master's degree or higher credential

  • have a 3.6 or higher GPA and up to 3 years of professional work experience

  • have a 3.3 or higher GPA and 3 to 7 years of professional work experience
